The image and the lens

"

It is not always easy to obtain arms and legs placed in a photo group that works to the benefit of all. There is always someone who blinks, spasms and bend a leg or an arm in a way that everyone hides more perfect pose. The dancers are there in a shot most likely to Murphy's Law. Adding to that, I learned that nothing is working exactly as we see our eyes and minds to the group photo that has a lot of minds with different ideas put together. And as I learned the truth is sometimes a too precise with the camera.

Ideas can come at any of us in the strangest of times, especially when we do something that is mundane and monotonous. For example, I was in the shower when the idea occurred to me to class group photo with some of my students I teach privately. I thought it would be a good addition to your lessons and also be funny at the same time time. Learn to pose for the camera is an important element for any professional dancer to learn especially for those who prepare and work in their portfolios. So I left shower and decided to call a photographer friend of mine that I worked in the past five years under the name of Pat Berrett. He thought it sounded like an interesting project to set a date for the group photo session and so began our journey.

I looked at my wrist and nothing Kachina subject of the photo shoot has emerged. I thought it would be interesting to eye makeup, like the Indians to make ceremonial dances. The feathers that followed added to this mix of unconventional style of New Mexico. Finally, We've added this idea gypsy skirts with corsets and hip scarves. I knew it was quite the mix of cultures, but that New Mexico is all about. And the six of us began working toward creating a melting pot of multiple cultures mixed with bling, fancy color and slightly pulled on the environment. When the big day arrived, everyone has invested time and money to create Printing your own New Mexico. There was a multitude of colors that represent our skies, sunsets, landscapes and people. It was beyond what I imagined, so I knew that photos would be dramatic or so I thought.

The day of filming, I woke up feeling that some something was amiss. Call the woman's intuition or a hunch, but I knew the shoot was to have her problems before getting out of bed. My site started the morning by visiting a combination of the Bride of Frankenstein and Bridezilla. Would not work no matter what I did. Add feathers attached to my eyelashes and not in front of me I felt like an owl. In the time it was done, my face looked like it belonged the painting of Picasso.

One of my students was 30 minutes time to come to me I made the step. When it arrived, I was ready to leave my paintings of Picasso and the replacement of diving into bed. Feather eyelashes malfunction of him later. This is understandable, especially if you do not use very often false eyelashes feather.

As we drove down the location of Santa Fe to Albuquerque, I realized that my anxiety was back with a vengeance. I crushed like a bug and go on trying to concentrate on driving to have a shoot good pictures. As we approached the parking lot, saw the girls for the first time and I was delighted and surprised by the color that emanates from their faces painted and color explosion of their corsets and hip scarves. New Mexico was indeed with everyone of them. People gathered around and we prepared for our photo session. We were lucky because the Tibet project allowed us to be photographed, not only in space but also with her jewels. Joolz Thank you for this news because the family had gone well and one children. As we walked together, I realized that Pat began to prepare for the interior first shots. This gave us time to select our jewelry, pens adjustment, corsets and bindi occasional failure. Little knew it was not clear who has a free morning that me. He had thought closed his house and had to go back and rent another to find that his aircraft had been in his car all the time. Add to why I decided to shoot the photo session for my files thinking that would not be a problem. He said he would not be filmed, period. Long story short, I have moments in the film where we talk to each other in front of girls. Needless to say I was surprised by the fact that it was all captured on film. My daughter is at the origin and when the camera captures everything I say without saying it did!

Our first group photo in blankets piled two feet high, with colors of walls and hand-carved furniture. As Pat We were all put in the big pile of blankets, I realized he did not want me to fix the positions of the body, including arms and legs of girls. We talked about this before the date of the photo shoot, but for some reason unknown to me has changed his mind and keep the peace that was missed. Few weeks later he said he felt it would be too difficult for me for the job and then get back into shape. I think we realized that I was the missing link for girls is necessary. Needless to say, had a student with his hand in front of my face on some shots. I looked out and outside the home because of anxiety, irritation

body position is not only me but everyone. Some positions the girl made them look like supermodels with legs and arms awkwardly placed stiff. There were too many of us and I knew I had stuck to my arm and placed worldwide. He suspected that the shooting took no work and, unfortunately, the pictures that I was right. With In retrospect I feel that the first group of photos was, as breeding cats Pat. Faced with multiple conversations occurring at the same time, nervous laughter and the director of students sometimes questioned.

We went to an outdoor terrace on the side and it was clear that my vision was not consistent with the vision Pats. Wanted fashion photos with the extreme position of the body and that we had stopped several positions with the arms up or tilted. Unfortunately, they were placed so that the presentations and our weapons were each other. For photos of the work I had to position around the world through the eyes of a choreographer. So with this experience I learned that Positioning the dancers and photographers know how to say when a vaccine is correct. Although I was fortunate to work with Pat, I realized that there are always lessons even if they were working with someone for years. Needless to say, do not get pictures of the band I expected. Sometimes, good ideas must be designed so that you can come to life. In this example, that big of a photographer that Pat is, he could not make it work. My students were disappointed, but all said they had fun. Knowing this, I knew I could not rest but for what my students were interested in all thought it would be the end of it.

Most of the artists who found an idea kept alive and be persistent to get it done. That's what makes us different from the rest of society. We walked until we get results we want.

I thought I'd do it again, but changing environment and keep it in Albuquerque. With the changes I wanted to do, my dear friends Tish and Mike Miller come to mind. Mike was the photographer who took the photographs in the sanctuary of the wolf and his wife Tish is an artist of many talents including Fine Jewelry. This has been accepted for enter the project and see what they could do. Mike has found a wonderful cellar independently owned producers of the film, Paul Porter. Mike is an independent filmmaker himself so that the community has been a film was certainly an advantage.

Unfortunately not all my students can do this photo shoot because of scheduling conflicts, but the rest, which could, worked on the change of clothing and not prepared for another chance to be photographed. Mike has also arranged for a makeup to be implemented on the day of the session for several hours so that certainly helped with any makeup malfunction. Happy to say that the model was a euphemism Tish jewelry. There are no words to describe complex and painstaking work of art. Each piece is unique. There was no doubt in my mind that this photo shoot could definitely work!

The morning of the shoot I felt happy and relaxed. Started offwithout any failure or delay in place. I was so relieved not to impersonate one of the tables or animals. We work from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. Given that occurred within the duration filming, we were able to experiment and create different scenarios for different types of photos. I was able arms and legs and the position working with Mike and Tish to make memorable pictures. The aspect of learning a photo session to create dancers who understand the camera. It is not always easy to be real on camera. A pose must be credible to viewers, as it does for the artist. Thus, my students have learned that if they do not believe in themselves immediately come across that way in the image because the camera does not lie. I also learned that in creating good photographs, there are a lot of hard work to achieve them.

The two photo shoots have been working hard, but in different ways. The first photo shoot was for most of them first so that had no emotion. Held positions that did not work because they are held in difficult angles. I did not know how to ask a relaxed for Pat that I had to convince them firing positions. In the second photo shoot at times had to take a position that was painful to the point of the arms or legs go numb. Other times, I had to go inside themselves to make the dancer hiding I was too shy to come out.

At the end of filming the first set was tired of standing and forecast for each blow. Everyone went to the pure adrenaline for a sense of relief was felt throughout the group at the end of the day. At the end of the photo shoot every second that I was tired, but it was the kind of fatigue that feels amazing as I had really done something. My lesson is that the group Small was able to get the different scenes a little easier, then the whole group. I finally realized that the two photo sessions were excellent lessons for my students. For future reference, I'll make sure I put my students into small groups and play up that advantage.

With experience behind I feel like my students learned photographers who have worked and are attached. Pat and Mike both have unique skills which have always added a little flair none of the projects that I done with them.

It was a wonderful feeling to finally achieve what I had in my mind from the beginning. I think the first photo shoot was the second job. And to tell the truth was higher than expected. What was to create something for These brief moments in time was pure magic. But all this was filmed and best of all is that my students have more than just pictures of their portfolios. Thank you to Pat and Michael L. Berrett Miller This has important lessons they take with them and implement your next trip photo shoot.
