I had the 50D for more than six months. No complaints at all. Like much the look, size, capacity. Kit lens is good enough for me when I had no money for the luxury of Canon "L" lenses.
I mainly chose this camera is second nature, Rebel T1i or because it is full. I have large hands, and many other devices photo seemed a bit uncomfortable for me. It fits well. I also like being a little weight, because it looks more like a chamber of lightweight plastic.
This is not the video, but it really should not miss. I am currently busy learning the adoption of large images. If I ever master, I updated to the new reality in the future.
If it is the parents who want to shoot children or home I would say probably unnecessary. If you want to study photography profession or leisure, this camera is a good option, provide years of use.

Is it love
I am not an expert in photography, then you've probably barely scratched the surface potential of this unit. But based on how you use it, is amazing. I find it very easy to use. I am able to get good pictures with the most basic configuration. I can not wait to improve my skills and really use the capabilities of this unit and quality. If you are a serious beginner to intermediate photographer, I think it would be very happy with the Canon 50D.

New to photography
It has never owned a semi-professional camera in my life. I bought a 30D to a friend as a gift and fired twice. I sometimes get results with the 50D to eclipse that of the 30d, but I can not tell you why. Not an expert. Just know that you can not beat the price and the 28-135mm lens product beautiful pictures. I like to throw all out, set the camera to AV of 5.6 and get the background blur with my beautiful topic. I have two friends with the 30D and both have found my unit highly desirable. An interesting quality is that you can see all the choices when you look at the viewfinder so you can make adjustments while framed by a gunshot. I can not wait to see the actual shooting. The manual is OK, but I preferred to get the Field Guide.

Very smooth operation of the device
Bought this to replace a Canon 30D. Therefore Operation of the basic menu structure were familiar. The menu is more flexible and easier to use than for 30 days. I also bought the 50D because it uses the same battery as the 30D.
My first trip to Article 50d, was to document a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The picture quality is excellent, especially in low light. Ability to make photos of the camera in low light without a sound is exceptional (Compared to my previous camera).
This is a full view (not part of the complete image), is the camera a bit heavier than the 30D. With two lenses and equipment, estimated the weight at the end of the day. While this is not a pocket-sized camera light, will take place in the lightweight cameras can not.
In general I am very happy with the Camera Photo.

I had my 50D for a little over 6 months. I do not regret at all. I love the design, size, capacity. The kit lens works well for me until I have money for a fancy Canon "L" lenses.
Initially, I chose this unit over other brands or even T1i rebel because of their size. I have big hands and many other small cameras found disturbing for me. That fits. I also like having a little weight while just feels more solid than the small plastic cameras.
No video but do not really miss. Right now I am busy learning to take great photos. If you ever love me maybe I'll move to a new you have in the future.
If you are a parent who want to take pictures on vacation or children, then I would say probably an exaggeration. If you want to study photography as a hobby or profession, then this unit is a good option that will give you many years of use.
