Sony projection HDTV, the flickering images, how to replace the tubes?
I have a Sony rear projection HDTV and the picture sometimes flashes with a simple red square, and sometimes the TV is off. I guess the tubes must be replaced. How I can do, and where I can get tubes?
You only need CRT RED, and it's not a job to do yourself … It is very complicated electronic alignments … but we must start with a screen, yoke centered approach, and certain other adjustments to tighten the beam. Very complicated, unless you have done this job repeatedly. Worth every penny to get a Sony authorized service center to do the job, and it will take about 2 hours to complete a CRT. Now if you want to do, I suggest you contact them, get an estimate to know is what to do. It is always useful diagnostic rate, if you get off work.
